The Olympic Games are about far more than medals and competition. From their revival by Pierre de Coubertin, the vision was clear: to bring nations together in peaceful competition and mutual respect.
Athletes from around the world stand side by side — sometimes from countries facing political tension — yet in those moments, differences fade and humanity shines. The International Olympic Committee promotes excellence, friendship, and respect, values that echo the peace-building mission of the United Nations.
Perhaps our games at Mrs. Bush’s weren’t broadcast to the world, but they too brought people together — through fun, friendly competition, laughter, and teamwork. They reminded us that the true spirit of the Olympics isn’t just found on a global stage. It’s found anywhere people gather with joy, encouragement, and a little healthy rivalry.
Because whether worldwide or right here at home, the power of sport is the same: it connects us, lifts us up, and reminds us that together is always better. 🏅
