Thanks to a new California law, you won't have to scramble to turn down the volume when a commercial comes on a streaming platform.

This state law regulates the volume of ads on streaming services so commercials aren't louder than the program you're watching. The law takes effect in July 2026. https://abc7.com/17963511/

I spend a lot of time on prior authorizations. Today I will spend 45 minutes on the phone appealing a denial of benefits for a patient who has a plan that says in her insurance book that she has hearing aid coverage.

“Prior authorization, where providers are required to get insurer approval before offering a service or prescription, is very common in plans — particularly for pricier care such as skilled nursing facility or inpatient hospital stays.”
