This past week, our hearts were heavy as we said goodbye to one of our cherished equine partners, Sage. 💔
Sage began experiencing medical complexities that, despite best efforts and the vets' guidance, became a mystery. When her bad days began to outnumber the good, a challenging decision had to be made. One week ago, surrounded by her loved ones—both two-legged and four—Sage was compassionately laid to rest.
The passing of a beloved animal leaves a profound void. We mourn not just a presence, but the unique, wordless connection—the comfortable weight against your leg, the nuzzle on your shoulder, and the unconditional love that filled your daily rhythm. When a life ends, the world feels different. Healing isn't about time; it's about honoring the love and the absence while we learn to adjust and reconnect to the life still around us.
Grief is one of life’s unavoidable challenges. Loss is the cost of love, and in honor of love, we created this workshop.
Held by Horses is a supportive space for anyone navigating the heartbreak of grief—from the loss of a person, a beloved pet, or any other significant, personal loss. Here, you are invited to be surrounded by the embodied presence of our herd, to share your story and be truly heard, and to witness one another as partners on our uniquely individualized grief journeys.
