It’s so amazing to be able to see all components of all ages as a Family Nurse Practitioner being entrusted with you as a patient or as a family.

I got to help educate a daughter and their mother about the nuances of beginning one’s journey as a young woman with soon to occur menarche and then transitioned to another appointment for another woman about transitioning off of synthetic contraceptives. Guided another about their transition into perimenopause and all its craziness and on the same day had conversations about post menopause and natural hormone therapy and its benefits.

4 women (well 5) ….. 4-5 different parts of life and offer guidance in all aspects. Normalizing the conversations.

It was a great day. Everyday is great—really. I never can plan what to expect or who will be helped.

Anticipating another government shut down tomorrow because no-one can seemingly get along these days and be adults despite having the country to support and run —- leaving YOU —- the patient in the dust.

Should this happen we are back to Medicare temporarily NOT covering phone calls and zoom visits — we have an affordable — budget friendly option until it extends….yet again.

Until then …. Tomorrow is business as usual for us….which in other news…. We don’t walk out on our patients. Full services tomorrow with full staffing. Just another Friday —

My 3rd party bookkeeper is walking away and canceled our update…. so more IRS penalties for me. Oh goodie. Maybe I’m better off doing everything myself … again. 🤦🏼‍♀️

The women I have testosterone on know the many benefits of having replacement for women and not just men.

Besides the increase in libido and sexual function we have a huge reduction in cardiovascular risk, stroke risk, dementia risk and osteoporosis risk. PLUS they just feel healthy!!!!

The FDA had a recent panel of presenters reviewing testosterone replacement for men and many commented on the need for protocols for women.

This is the time to speak up so hopefully there becomes an insurance covered and guideline based option for women. It’s already evidenced based but our guidelines need updating so the masses can get the benefit. Nearly had an argument with a student yesterday on estrogen and testosterone replacement on this very topic!!!!

Here we go again……

We are not afraid of germs but I would advise self screening for flu. It’s a doozy. It’s a virus so we can provide coughing support and tips and tricks.

It will impact mostly very young and very old or immune compromised so use your judgement and common sense.

We got very good at Virtual respiratory treatments during the C word and can do so again. Happy to send in Iver>mectin at request.

We will NEVER enforce masks but again please use best judgement to keep those more at risk more safe. Do a virtual call or a drive up lung check.
