As our community says goodbye to Pat Stephens and celebrates his beautiful life, the Colgan Family and Colgan Air feel so fortunate and lucky to have called him a dear friend. Pat was one of the first leaders of Deke Slayton Airfest and the mastermind behind Freedom Honor Flight - two of Colgan Air's favorite events.

Hosting events in a hangar is anything but simple and 'easy'. Security is a huge responsibility and set up is no small feat, but we trusted Pat, just as our entire community trusted Pat. In Kelly's office, she has the words "Chip, Chip, Chip" on her bulletin board - a Pat-ism that we reference regularly in our office and family. When life feels overwhelming, take a breath, find your people and start chipping. One chip at a time and anything can be accomplished! The Pat Way.

Pat's leadership, integrity and character changed lives, made our community a beautiful place to live and reminded us all that when we come together, anything can be accomplished with a little chipping! We send all our love to Joanne and the Stephens family, and the many friends and organizations that are missing our community's fearless, calm and steady leader.

Enjoy with some misty eyes a few of the fun memories we had with Pat over the years including over 30 Freedom Honor Flights, so many Rotary Club of La Crosse-East's Lobsterfests, offering his security services for AJ Hawk at 2014 Airfest (😆) and lastly, he was the first one ready at the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce with a scissors and ribbon for our Grand Re-Opening in 2017.

Such a fun story! Alex was one of Colgan Air's flight students many years ago, and look at him now! Flying for Envoy out of his hometown airport, La Crosse Regional Airport, and showing off his skills to his family. We hope Grandma's first airplane ride was a smooth one! ✈️✈️✈️

Another overdue congratulations to our flight student, Amy! Amy achieved her Private Pilots license while running a business, raising a big family and getting married! No such thing as a full plate in her world...We’re incredibly proud of Amy and grateful to her instructor, Weston, for helping her turn a big dream into reality.

We are over the moon with this news! Thank you to the La Crosse Regional Airport for working tirelessly and persistently to provide more flight options for our community. They can have a thankless job, as some wish for destinations elsewhere, but adding United to the lineup is a HUGE WIN for the City of La Crosse, Wisconsin! The addition of a main line carrier helps retain jobs and businesses, supports our universities and students, provides more destinations for leisure travel and the best part, creates more competitive pricing so people hopefully choose to skip the drive to Minneapolis. And maybe then, a certain carrier will notice and miss our amazing community...For now, we are going to celebrate with the airport and start preparing for all the exciting work ahead! ✈️✈️✈️

More big news for the Coulee Region!

We’re excited to announce that United Airlines will begin daily service at La Crosse Regional Airport (LSE) starting May 7, 2026, with four flights per day!

This new service strengthens our connectivity to the national air network, expands travel options for our region, and reinforces the continued growth of LSE. We’re proud to welcome United Airlines and look forward to the opportunities this brings for business, leisure, and our community.

A BIG Congratulations to Kassandra and Max! 🥳 Kassandra passed her Private Pilot Checkride right after the New Year (who says you can't learn to fly in winter??)! Our employee, Max, also accomplished his first solo flight a couple months back and is well on his way to achieving his license like Kassandra. We love watching people achieve their dreams and goals!

Let's hear it for some good news!!! 🥳🥳🥳

We are thrilled to celebrate the news that Allegiant is servicing the La Crosse Regional Airport! Whether you love these destinations or not, this is outstanding news for the airport and community, and a positive step in the right direction. When other airlines see these planes filled, you can guarantee more planes and options will follow.

Thank you to JD, Lauren and the entire La Crosse Regional Airport team for working hard, being persistent and playing the long game on this one! New air service doesn't happen overnight. It took a lot of faith and dedication to make this happen.
