3 babies were born in just under 13 hours and I was blessed to be there for all of their births 🤍 Monday night we were getting close to home from our return trip from NC where we had welcomed our firstborn's baby when baby #1's mama called and said her water had broke. Five minutes after baby #1 was born, baby #2's mama sent a text that labor was picking up. Five minutes after baby #2 was born, baby #3's daddy called saying mama was in hard labor and was ready to come to the Birthcenter. My feet hit the ground running attending 3 births totaling 26 # 7oz of sweet cherub chub 🤍

It's been a busy weekend! A sweet baby girl was born at home early yesterday morning. Mom & Dad are excited with being first time parents! Lots of oohing and aahing 🤎
Another precious baby girl was born at home before noon today! It seems like just yesterday we welcomed her brother into the world. Big brother is definitely going to take his role seriously and take care of his little sister 🤎

Being a midwife is a blessing! You know it's your calling when you keep going through the hard times. This year, losing our son made it extra challenging, but thanks to my wonderful husband, compassionate midwifery colleagues and amazing families we all worked together to continue changing the world one birth at a time 🤍

A couple weeks ago, in the middle of a winter snowstorm, mama calmly brought this sweet 8 # 5oz baby boy into the warmth of her loving arms at home. I have been delighted to walk alongside this family for a second time...and to welcome their first baby boy 💙

A precious 7 # 7oz baby girl was the best Christmas present this sweet family received this year! She was born into daddy's hands and her cord was cut by her big 3yo brother. The oohing and ahhing of her older brothers afterwards was priceless. Life is a gift 💕

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Christmas doesn't have to be merry and the holidays don't have to be happy...gasp! Yes, I said it. This is absolutely true because Christ didn't come to make us happy, rather he came so that the world could rejoice. There is a difference.

Merriness and happiness reveal external cheer often linked to life's circumstances. Joy, on the other hand, is internal, deep and chosen despite life's conditions. Merrymaking and happiness are temporary while joy is lasting coming from finding a deep purpose of life and faith. Happiness looks at the world around you and joy comes from inside your heart.

I hope you all have a merry Christmas, but if not, that's ok too. Choose to rejoice in the wonder of God's redeeming love, for that my friend, is eternal.
