Autism can look different for every person, and for many adults, signs of autism may go unrecognized for years. Receiving the right diagnosis and support can make a meaningful difference in helping individuals better understand themselves and access the services they need.

Employment can also be a challenge; only 30% of autistic adults are currently employed. Creating more understanding, inclusive workplaces and communities helps ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

This Autism Acceptance Month, let’s continue to learn, listen, and support autistic adults in our community.

If you or someone you know may benefit from support, CHD’s Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Program may be able to help. Learn more at www.chdinc.org/dd or call 541-962-8858.

Autism looks different for every person. Early signs can include sensitivity to loud noises, avoiding eye contact, delayed speech development, or preferring to play alone but no two individuals are the same.

Only 26% of autistic pupils report feeling happy at school, reminding us how important understanding, inclusion, and support truly are.

If you have concerns about your child’s development, talk with your healthcare provider. Early support can make a big difference.

Flooding can happen quickly, especially near rivers and low-lying areas. Even small amounts of moving water can be dangerous, so stay alert and be ready to act.

Stay ready with a few essentials 💧🔦🔋 like water, a flashlight, batteries, a phone charger, and important documents in a waterproof bag 📄
