Winter conditions can change quickly. Before heading out, make sure your vehicle is travel-ready 🚗, pack an emergency car kit, plan your route, and stay connected.

When roads are icy or snow-covered, travel with caution and follow safe winter driving practices. If you become stranded, staying with your vehicle can help keep you safe until help arrives.

🦠 Respiratory Illness Alert: RSV & Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

RSV and pertussis are serious respiratory illnesses that can be especially dangerous for babies, young children, pregnant people, older adults, and those with health conditions.

RSV is the leading cause of severe respiratory infection in infants. Pertussis causes intense coughing fits that can make it hard to breathe and infants in Oregon have died from this disease.

Protection includes recommended immunizations, staying home when sick, washing hands often, and limiting exposure to sick individuals especially around babies.

❄️⚡ Winter power outages can happen when you least expect them. Knowing what to do can help keep you and your family safe. Cold temperatures, icy roads, and limited access to supplies can make winter outages even more challenging.

During an outage, remember to:
• Keep flashlights and extra batteries ready
• Stay warm with blankets and extra layers
• Keep your fridge closed to protect your food
• Plan ahead for medical and access needs
• Use generators safely and only outdoors
• Stock up on essentials for at least two weeks
