đŸ’„ Fighting Above Our Weight Class Award đŸ’„

This award recognizes teams who go beyond expectations—departments that consistently deliver exceptional results, elevate those around them, and make an outsized impact on patient care and safety. Each recipient is selected by the previous winner, passing the honor from one high-performing team to the next.

Selected by our Laboratory team, this recognition goes to—
Environmental Services (EVS)

From the Laboratory team:

EVS is more than housekeeping—they are an essential part of the healthcare team and a critical partner in patient safety. Their work is foundational to everything we do. Without consistently clean, properly disinfected environments, the accuracy of our testing and the safety of our patients and staff would be at risk.

Their attention to detail, deep understanding of infection prevention, and commitment to doing the job right—every time—do not go unnoticed. Whether it’s terminally cleaning patient rooms, responding quickly in high-risk situations, or maintaining the highest sanitation standards across the facility, EVS plays a direct role in reducing the spread of harmful pathogens.

They show up every day with professionalism, precision, and pride, creating safe spaces that allow all of us to do our jobs effectively.

Their impact may be behind the scenes, but it is felt in every result, every diagnosis, and every patient experience.

This is more than operational excellence—it’s lifesaving work. Thank you, EVS, for everything you do to keep our hospital safe.

Congratulations to our newest GEM Award Winner, Hailey Boren. Here is what her nominator had to say: "Hailey encountered a patient who came in needing a few tests for an upcoming surgery, and this was their last chance to get the testing done in time. When reviewing the orders, she noticed the ordering facility did not have the correct information. She reached out to the facility multiple times over 4+ hours to get the order corrected. Once received, Hailey contacted the departments to ensure they could complete the tests in a timely manner. She then informed the patient that the corrected order was received and advised them to come in as soon as possible. This ability to collaborate with the facility, our staff, and the patient is what makes her stand out. I appreciate her dedication to being an advocate for patients and setting them up for success."

We’re pleased to welcome Frantzie Michel, MSN, ARNP, FNP, to the pediatric care team at Grande Ronde Hospital & Clinics.
Being a pediatric nurse practitioner carries deep meaning for Frantzie. Her path into pediatrics began early in her career and shaped her core values and commitment to making a lasting impact on children, parents, and the colleagues she works alongside.
As a pediatric NP, Frantzie values the opportunity to make an early impact—from infancy through adolescence—by preventing illness, supporting development, and identifying concerns early to help shape a healthier trajectory for each child.
Her philosophy of care is rooted in family-centered, evidence-based care and compassion. Frantzie believes children are not “small adults,” and that care must be tailored to each child’s age, development, and emotional needs. As she puts it, “Helping an anxious parent feel supported and at ease is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.”
Frantzie was drawn to Grande Ronde Hospital & Clinics by its mission and commitment to ensuring rural communities have access to high-quality care.
Now accepting patients at 541.663.3150.
