These classes incorporate the principles of the STOTT Pilates method – a contemporary, anatomically-based approach to Joseph Pilates’ original exercises. A “thinking person’s exercise,” focusing on postural strength, flexibility, alignment, and coordination through the strengthening of both mobilizing and stabilizing muscles within the pelvic and spinal region. These movements are performed primarily on the floor, at times using small props to further challenge the core and supporting muscles.
