Many people finish physical therapy with a Home Exercise Program (HEP) to support long-term success. The HEP is an important tool, but it’s not the whole picture.

Life stress, sleep, habits, workload, and recovery all play a role. And when life gets busy, even the best HEP can fall by the wayside.

That’s where consistency and accountability matter most.

Resources like help bridge the gap between rehab and real life. Their background in physical therapy, combined with a focus on sustainable behavior change, helps people continue progressing long after discharge.

If your goal is to move better, feel better, and actually maintain your progress, give them a follow and send them a DM to learn more about how they can support you in the new year.

Pick your head up!

Most people with forward head posture have their chin sticking out in the air. This “kinks” your neck and when you decide to turn your head, you rotate off axis. This can cause a lot of stress to your tissues over time.

Activate the deep neck muscles (longus Colli) to help stack the head over the body and let the neck rotate smoothly.

It isn’t necessarily about “posture” or just standing straight, it’s about building better control of your body.

The start of the new year often brings motivation, maintaining moment is where most people struggle. Real, lasting change is difficult to create alone, especially without the right structure or support.

Stress, competing priorities, ingrained habits and physical limitations can all become barriers when trying to move forward. The key isn’t to necessarily push harder, but rather about building routines and systems that work in real life.

If this sounds familiar heading into the new year, you’re not alone. Getting ahead of the challenges before old patterns return can make all the difference.

Follow to learn how accountability and intentional habit-building can help you create change that actually lasts. DM them for a free clarity call!

Foot Planks: Building a strong medial arch

Stand between two yoga blocks and let your midfoot hang unsupported while you hold a single leg stance.

✅ Teaches the arch to support load without collapsing. This mimics real mid-stance mechanics and has to work just like when you walk or run.
✅ Improves foot stiffness and energy transfer. A muscularly stiff (not rigid) foot helps to improve running efficiency.
✅ Trains big toe as a functional anchor and utilizes the entire first ray to stabilize
✅Enhances proximal stability through distal demand. As the arch wobbles, the hip must activate its abductors and deep rotators to help stabilize the leg.

When people think about their shoulders they usually are strictly focused on their rotator cuff with internal and external rotations or doing I,T, Y’s. While these can be beneficial, other muscles often are overlooked.

Train your upper traps appropriately with overhead movement!

Start with this exercise against a wall and progress doing adding this to an overhead press to not only work on your upper traps but to improve the coordination of your upper quarter.
