Have you recently received a chemical peel? The Glow-Up is a Process! ✨
You’ve finished your chemical peel—now the real work begins. Your skin is currently a “blank canvas,” and how you treat it over the next 7 days determines your final results. Avoid the “scary” side of peeling by following these non-negotiables! 🛑👇
1️⃣ HANDS OFF! 🚫
Repeat after me: I will not pick. Pulling at flaking skin can lead to permanent scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). If a piece is literally hanging, you can carefully snip it with clean beauty scissors—but never pull!
2️⃣ KEEP IT CHILL 🧊
Skip the HIIT workout, the sauna, and the steaming hot shower for at least 48–72 hours. Excess sweat can get trapped under the peeling skin, causing irritation or even blisters. Stick to cool water only!
3️⃣ THE “GENTLE” PHASE 🧸
Your actives (Retin-A, Vitamin C, AHAs/BHAs) need a vacation. For the next 7–10 days, your routine is:
* Cleanse: Soap-free, gentle cleanser (like CeraVe Hydrating).
* Moisturize: Thicker is better. Use Aquaphor or Vaselineto keep the barrier sealed.
* Protect: Mineral SPF 30+ is your new best friend. Even if it’s cloudy!
4️⃣ SLEEP LIKE A QUEEN 👸
Try sleeping on your back with an extra pillow. This helps reduce facial swelling and prevents your fresh skin from rubbing against your pillowcase all night.
Trust the process. The “snake skin” phase is temporary, but the glow is forever! ✨
