In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial, an inhaled phage cocktail was well tolerated in adults with cystic fibrosis and chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, with evidence of lung delivery and signs of bacterial reduction.

This is important. When medically important antibiotics are used in the food chain, it promotes the growth of bacteria that are resistant to them. Those bacteria swap these antimicrobial resistance genes with other bacteria and over time, fewer and fewer antibiotics work to kill bacterial infections in people, animals and even aquaculture. Agribusiness is a major lobby. Get informed, put your purchasing power to work, and avoid companies that have not lived up to their pledge to get antibiotics out of the food chain. Speaking from personal experience, your life or someone you care about may depend on it.

Report: Most fast-food chains aren't making the grade on antibiotic policies

The report, which graded 20 restaurant chains on antibiotic use policies in the meat they serve, gave 6 chains a D and 5 an F.
