Volunteer Appreciation Week gives us a chance to say thank you to people who give their time, their kindness, and their heart. Our volunteers are the heart of our organization, and we mean that.

They help in so many meaningful ways, including:

đź’™Patient care.
đź’™Grief support.
đź’™Office support.
đź’™Fundraising.
đź’™Special events.
đź’™Veteran support.

Their presence brings comfort not only to patients, but to families and our whole community, too. We are homegrown and deeply rooted here, and we are grateful to every volunteer who helps us care for others in such a personal way.

If you have been thinking about serving your community in a meaningful way, we would love to connect with you.

Some conversations are hard to start. That does not mean they are not worth having. National Healthcare Decisions Day is a reminder to talk with the people you love about your future care wishes.

Who would speak for you if you could not speak for yourself? What matters most to you? What kind of care would you want? Planning ahead is not about expecting the worst. It is a caring step that can bring clarity, comfort, and peace of mind in the long run.

Our palliative care team helps patients and families talk through advance care planning and future healthcare preferences with care and compassion.

A heartfelt thank you to Fort Bent 4-H for your incredibly generous blanket donation. Each blanket is more than just warmth—it’s comfort, compassion, and a reminder to our patients that they are cared for and not alone. Your kindness truly touches lives in the most meaningful way.

Hospice care is about comfort, support, and helping each day hold as much peace as possible. It is about quality of life for patients and support for the people who care about them. Our hospice team works together to help manage pain and symptoms while also caring for emotional and spiritual needs.

Nurses, CNAs, chaplain support, social work, and volunteers each play an important part in that care. No one should have to face this season alone. We are here to help patients and families feel supported, informed, and cared for.

Kind, Compassionate Care

Arkansas Valley Hospice focuses on caring not curing and in most cases, care is provided in the patient’s home. Arkansas Valley Hospice also provides care in nursing homes, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities. Patients are eligible after being certified by a physician as having a life expectancy of 6 months or less, depending on the course of the disease and no longer seeking treatment. Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. Hospice patients and their families will not be billed for any services not covered by insurance.

Arkansas Valley Hospice is the only local non-profit Hospice providing care in the Arkansas Valley. All donations stay in the Arkansas Valley. There is no cost to patients.

Each member of our caring staff and medical team is attentive, highly trained, certified, and insured. We have the following staff members available:
