Self care isn’t what the media portrays it to be, self care starts with boundaries and saying no for yourself without over explanation. Teaching ourselves small acts of safety, met with consistency, can rewire our nervous systems and help us reclaim ourselves. You were never meant to run on empty 🫶🏼

I struggle with rejection sensitive dysphoria more than I like to admit.

Small things can feel huge. Neutral feedback can feel like failure. Silence can feel like rejection.

It’s exhausting and it’s real.

If you experience this too, you’re not alone and you’re not broken. Your nervous system is just trying to protect you.

A few things that help:
Pause before reacting
Reality-check the story your brain is telling
Name it when it shows up
Practice self-compassion
Remember: feelings aren’t facts

It’s easy to internalize someone else’s behavior, especially if you’re a people pleaser. It’s important to remember that someone else’s mistreatment of you isn’t actually about you. “Keeping the peace” isn’t actually peace if it causes you distress 🫶🏼🌹

Those relentless, uncomfortable thoughts you may have are not you or representative of who you are. They’re not warnings or actions you need to take, no matter how urgent they may feel. If you experience these intrusive thoughts, try to remind yourself that it’s just a thought and it WILL pass ♥️
