We recently caught up with long-time SDYC student Natapong, who shared how yoga has shaped his life.
Natapong first turned to yoga to slow down and reconnect with himself. Amid a busy schedule, it became his space to breathe, reset, and build strength—helping him stay present and grounded. “It’s like a reset button that brings me back to myself.”
His biggest challenge has been practicing patience, especially when a pose doesn’t come easily and his body feels different day to day. “I’m learning to accept those fluctuations and focus on the process instead of perfection. Yoga has taught me that I’m stronger than I think — physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s also taught me to be more aware of my inner voice, and to bring more compassion and presence into everything I do, on and off the mat.”
What keeps him returning to SDYC is the environment. “I keep coming back because the energy here is different—in a good way. The instructors are grounded, intentional, and inspiring. The classes challenge me but also make me feel safe and encouraged. And the community at SDYC feels warm, genuine, and uplifting. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in.”
