Meet Your Instructor Monday!
Today we introduce Sojourner Walker-Williams. Sojourner brings a sense of calmness and a beautiful energy to each and every class she teaches.
You can join her every Sunday for Vinyasa Flow at 10:30 am, Reiki and Restore at 12:00 pm, and Kundalini Yoga every other Saturday at 10:30 am.
She also is the instructor for 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training. A new training will start in January 2027.
1) Fave yoga pose and why? My favorite at the moment is Lizard Pose. I love a good hip opener! Lizard Pose feels both energizing, grounding and is a great first thing in the morning asana to prepare for the day.
2) Fave type of yoga class and why? Restorative Yoga. I will always love a good Restorative Yoga class-especially if there are 3 bolsters, 3 blankets, 3 weighted eye pillows.
3) What inspired you to become a yoga instructor? I was introduced to yoga at 16 by a ballet teacher of mine. I immediately took to it because it made me feel. I practiced through college and quite heavily through my early 20s. My studio at the time was Laughing LotusYoga in Mew York City. The teachers were all so knowledgeable about the roots of yoga and they were able to make this ancient practice so relevant in modern times. In 2008, I listened to the call to become a yoga instructor. It was one of the best choices of my life. Forever a student of yoga, I have been teaching ever since!
