Wandering through the Roman ruins in Lyon and noting the plants, of course. Chickweed popping up through the cracks of foundations dating 3-4 AD, how this plant is so at home in so many spots of the world. Lots of fleabane, mallows, dandelion, and thistles are also loving the limestone foundations of the ruins. What plants do you spot in your winter wanderings- at home or abroad?
