• Increased secrecy, especially online

Child trafficking isn’t always what you see in movies.
It often happens through manipulation, coercion, or online grooming—sometimes by someone the child knows or trusts.

Trafficking = exploitation.
It does not always involve kidnapping or transporting someone across state lines.

The Center for Children stands with youth who have been harmed.

With new devices and extra screen time, holidays are a good time to talk about online safety:

Keep devices in shared family spaces when possible.

Know which apps and games your child is using.

Remind kids: Never share their full name, address, or school online.
Open conversations now can help prevent unsafe situations later.

“Give Grandma a hug!” can feel uncomfortable for some kids.
This season, let’s teach body boundaries:

Ask: “Would you like to give a hug, a high-five, or just wave?”

Respect their answer—yes or no.

When adults respect children’s choices about their bodies, we help protect them and build lifelong confidence.
