Less than 5% of reports are false.

When a child speaks up, they deserve to be heard and taken seriously. Choosing to act, even when it feels uncomfortable, helps create safer environments for children.

Yesterday, members of the SAO attended the Center for Children's Human Trafficking Awareness Night. The event served as an important opportunity to learn the signs of human trafficking, how youth are targeted, and what resources are available to help.

Assistant State's Attorney Chloe Dopico spoke about what the SAO is doing to help combat human trafficking.

A 40-year-old man was sentenced last week by a Charles County judge to 18 years in prison for the sexual abuse of a minor.
