✨The 39th Annual Teen Showcase at Illinois Valley Community College has brought together nearly 600 students in grades 7–11 for a day of learning, conversation and empowerment.✨

LaSalle County students will hear presentations on important topics, including healthy alternatives to alcohol, to***co and other drugs, setting positive goals, handling pressure, internet safety, bullying prevention and healthy relationships.

Teen Showcase is a collaborative effort between North Central Behavioral Health Systems, LaSalle County Health Department and numerous community partners. Thank you to OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois, Lisa Maynard, for being one of the speakers, and to OSF HealthCare Mission Partners, Darby Mix, Alexis Murphy, Amber Weber, and Ellen Vogel, for supporting this impactful event. 💙

Anthony Hofmann was a powerful speaker this morning on the consequences of drinking and driving. He was the follow up speaker to OSF HealthCare - Illinois Valley’s Lisa Maynard. Her information on the physiology and psychology of brain and trauma was full of practical knowledge. Teen Showcase educates and empowers the future.

Grow Through Love Mental Health Showcase with Dance Teams from Lewistown, North Fulton, Havana, South Fulton and Canton sharing their talents. Our Canton office shared our services with Heid Mench, Torey Drumm and Taylor Vaughn sharing their smiles.

February is Black History Month. This virtual event is a great opportunity to learn more about su***de prevention for the Black/African American community by the Black/African American community. L.E.T.S., the acronym for listening, empathy, trust, support, Save Lives: An Introduction to Su***de Prevention for Black and African American Communities is a presentation created by and for Black people, designed to reduce cultural stigma, foster conversations about mental health, and raise awareness of su***de prevention for individuals who identify as Black or African American. The program is grounded in research and delivered by trained presenters from the Black and African American community.
