Congratulations to our March Employee of the Month! We are happy to recognize Melissa Maki, DPT, PT, at Peter Christensen Health Center for one of the Seven Sacred Teachings ~ LOVE.

Melissa is a LDF Tribal Member and a Doctor of Physical Therapy, having worked for PCHC for nearly 5 years. The employee who nominated Melissa stated, "I am nominating this person in recognition of her exceptional dedication to patient care and her positive influence on both patients and coworkers. She consistently provides compassionate, high-quality care, even during the most challenging situations. She approaches every patient with patience, empathy, and genuine concern, ensuring they feel supported and respected throughout their treatment. Her ability to remain calm, encouraging, and attentive during difficult times truly sets her apart and reflects her deep commitment to her profession....In addition to her outstanding patient care, she is very patient and supportive when helping to train coworkers & staff in her department. She takes the time to explain processes thoroughly, answers questions without hesitation, and creates a comfortable learning environment for others. Her willingness to share her knowledge strengthens the entire team and helps maintain a high standard of care, which I have personally benefited from.

She is also someone who is always willing to help, stepping in wherever needed without being asked. She balances professionalism with a personable, approachable demeanor, making her a trusted colleague and a valued resource. Her attitude and work ethic embody the values of PCHC."
