An image of a corner in a sensory room at Sensory Tool House, LLC. The walls are covered in light blue and pink rectangular foam blocks, creating a textured, brick-like appearance. A large, dark blue crash pad or bean bag sits on the floor, accompanied by a smaller, soft blue cushion in the foreground. On the left, a vertical light panel glows with vibrant purple and pink hues. A soft, circular light projection with abstract yellow and green bubble-like patterns is cast onto the right wall, creating a calming, immersive atmosphere.

🔧✨ Event Recap: What an AMAZING time at Adaptathon 2025! 🎉
In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, we’re celebrating the power of innovation! We transformed over 80 household items into accessible treasures for our community! 🙌 The Olympia High School Robotics Team and local students worked tirelessly to create incredible custom adaptations, ensuring everyone—especially our neurodivergent neighbors—can engage with the world on their own terms!

A HUGE shoutout to Mr. Andrew Woodbridge, all participants, and for their fantastic support! You showed us what COMMUNITY-POWERED inclusion is all about! 💖

By modifying everyday tools, we aren't just changing objects; we're breaking down barriers to sensory processing and independence. This event not only provides essential devices for those with disabilities but empowers students with hands-on skills to build a more inclusive future for all! 🌟

Let’s keep making magic happen!

🧠💬 Sensory Tip: Understanding Oral Motor Input

Did you know that chewing, sipping, or blowing bubbles can actually help with focus and regulation?

Oral motor input uses the mouth, jaw, and tongue to support the nervous system. It’s a portable, powerful tool that can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and offer grounding, especially during transitions or overwhelming moments.

Here are just a few examples:
🧃 Drinking through a straw
🍿 Crunchy snacks
🛁 Blowing bubbles
🧸 Chewable fidgets
🍵 Sipping warm tea
🌀 Vibrating oral tools

But like all tools, context matters. Oral input isn’t always appropriate — especially if it interferes with eating, speech, or becomes overstimulating.

✅ Use what works for you. Every body is different.
👀 Save & share this tip with someone who could use a little sensory support today.

An educational graphic titled “Sensory Tip: Understanding Oral Motor Input” by Sensory Tool House. It explains that oral motor input involves using the mouth, jaw, and tongue for sensory regulation, and lists examples like chewable fidgets, crunchy snacks, drinking through straws, and blowing bubbles. It highlights when to use oral input (e.g., during transitions or overwhelming moments), when not to use it (e.g., during speech or eating), and reminds users to follow personal preferences. The layout includes icons such as a drink cup with straw, gum, and a recycling symbol.

❓Did you know?

💙World Down Syndrome day is to bring awareness and promote inclusion, rights, dignity, and full participation in community and all aspects of life.
💛The date 3/21 represents the 3 copies of chromosome 21 that cause Down syndrome.
💙1 in 800 babies will be born with Down syndrome
💛Why mismatched socks? What better way to bring awareness and start conversations on inclusion. And, because people with Down syndrome have an extra 21st chromosome, representing the “mismatched” pairs.
💙Theme this year is “Together Against Loneliness” because loneliness is real and impacts the health of those with Down syndrome, caregivers, and family members.

Are you rocking your bright mismatched socks today?
