Why I Became a Massage Therapist

Like many of us, I found my path to a profession I love through an indirect route. I originally wanted to become a Chiropractor and started college with this objective. Life intervened, though, and I switched course to work in my family business. After working in the transportation industry for 30 years, my wife and I moved to the Pacific Northwest.

I’ve always been interested in a service oriented profession and this move gave me the opportunity to explore a new career. After much self reflection I decided to attend the highly regarded East West College of the Healing Arts’ 800 hour massage program.

Completing this program has provided me the tools to begin working not only with clients who want to receive therapeutic massage, but also those living with chronic pain, range of motion limitations, and serious illness. I have personally experienced chronic pain from athletic injuries and wish I had received massage treatment along with my primary medical care.

My approach is to promote wellness through touch by applying a combination of therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage and fascial release techniques. If you are looking for a kind and compassionate massage therapist, give me a call so we can discuss your goals and how I can help you achieve the quality of life you desire.
