Your Safety Comes First This Halloween

Halloween can be overwhelming if you struggle with social anxiety or PTSD. You do not have to participate. If you do, choose events where you feel safe and a costume that feels comfortable. Set boundaries. Breathe. Prioritize your wellbeing. Asking for help isn’t weakness; it’s smart.

Start today. Notice one thing. Write it down. Feel the shift. You do not need a perfect moment to see what is working in your life. Explore more ways to support your mental health at beaconbh.com.

Your thoughts aren’t always facts. They’re just thoughts. Thought defusion is a simple way to give yourself some space between you and unhelpful thoughts.
Here’s how it works: when a negative thought pops up, add, “I’m having the thought that…” For example, instead of “I’m worthless,” say, “I’m having the thought that I’m worthless.”

Why it matters: seeing your thoughts as separate from you softens their power. It helps you respond instead of react, take the next step instead of feeling stuck, and stay aligned with the life you want.

Small shifts can lead to real change. For support that meets you where you are, visit beaconbh.com.
