Maren Boothby, MS, CCC-SLP received her Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of New Hampshire in 1997. After working in skilled nursing, acute rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation settings, Maren found her passion working with children in schools. Maren began collaborating with like-minded colleagues in 2002. Our philosophy of providing custom made work schedules designed to fit each individual therapist's life combined with outstanding compensation for each hour worked has allowed us to recruit and retain the highest caliber of therapists. Our understanding of the needs of special education professionals continues to foster an increasing number of partnerships with schools across New England. This unique partnership between therapists, educators and parents is a powerful team that helps children succeed.

Welcome to the team, Megan Guerin! 🌟

Megan joins Boothby Therapy Services as a Speech-Language Pathologist, bringing 12 years of experience, most of it in school-based settings. She began her career in Massachusetts before moving to Maine in 2018.

“I especially love working with students with pragmatic language disorders and functional communication needs. Outside of speech pathology, I enjoy spending time with my family and skiing!”

“I previously worked in a pediatric private practice where I enjoyed facilitating play-based and child-led therapies that were unique to each child to help foster communication. I am passionate in creating a strong and trusting rapport with each child and their family to increase opportunities for the child to thrive across all environments. When I'm not working, you can usually find me getting lost in a book!”

Welcome to the team, Abi Gibson! 🌟

Abi joins Boothby Therapy Services as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. Before joining BTS, she worked in southern Illinois as an early childhood special education teacher while earning her bachelor’s in communication disorders.

She loves working with Pre-K through 2nd-grade students, especially in high-needs classrooms, and finds joy in helping children build independence and confidence through play. 💙

Outside of work, Abi enjoys reading, tackling new DIY projects, and gardening. Having just moved to New Hampshire, she’s excited to explore all that New England has to offer!

Welcome to the team, Cara Whitmore! 🌟

Cara joins Boothby Therapy Services as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinical Fellow. Originally from Hampden, Maine, she earned her SLP education from the University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine.

Cara shared that she knew from a young age she was meant to be an SLP, and she’s thrilled to begin her career supporting middle and high school students! 💙

Now based in Portland, she’s enjoying exploring local breweries, coffee shops, and spending time outdoors.

Welcome to the team, Erica Waugh! 🌟

Erica joins Boothby Therapy Services as a Special Education Teacher, bringing a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for supporting diverse learners. She shared her journey with us:

“In the early 2000s I worked as a daycare provider while raising my two young children. This provided me with the opportunity to embrace diverse learning populations and perspectives. I cared for children with severe health issues as well as those undiagnosed with autism, ADHD, speech impairments, intellectual disability, Down Syndrome, and PTSD. In 2008, I enrolled in community college to start my career as a Special Education Teacher. From there, I joined the University of Farmington where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a minor in English. I went on to complete my master’s degree at the University of Orono with courses in administration, psychology, and special education. Once completing these courses, I felt compelled my mission was and is to work with students with diverse learning needs.”

We’re honored to welcome Erica to BTS. Her dedication to helping children succeed is truly inspiring! 💙
