Along with the winter months comes dry, itchy skin. Here are some tips we recommend to keep your skin well-hydrated and looking healthy!

1. Bathe with lukewarm - not hot - water. Although they feel good on a cold winter's day, long, hot showers dry out your skin.
2. Always use "fragrance-free" lotions, soaps, and detergents to minimize irritation. Even some products labeled "unscented" might contain chemicals that cause irritation.
3. As directed by your dermatologist, apply medications before moisturizing.
4. Wear loose-fitting, cotton clothes. Wool and other rough-feeling fabrics can cause irritation and intense itching.
5. Avoid extreme temperature changes. Use a humidifier during the winter if you are prone to dry skin and eczema.
6. Stress can actually make your itch worse! Take time to relax and care for yourself.
