Inside the Special Care Nursery at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Westberg handcrafts personalized milestone cards to celebrate every step forward. Coming off CPAP, losing an IV, breathing a little easier. Small victories that deserve to be recognized.

For families who spend nights away from their newborns while they recover in the nursery, those cards are more than a kind gesture. They are a reminder that someone is watching over their baby, cheering them on and counting every milestone right alongside them.

They are expertly trained to help children and families navigate the emotional challenges of healthcare, working alongside MUSC pediatric hospitalists and Roper St. Francis Healthcare nurses to make sure kids can still be kids, even in a hospital.
