~SNOW SHOVELING TIPS ~
~Do some warm up exercises to get your muscles turned on and ready. Stop and stretch periodically.
~Hydrate before , during and after! This is exercise!
~ Bend your knees and lift with your legs.
~As you lift the snow, keep the shovel blade close to you, to reduce back strain.
~Switch between snow shoveling right-handed and left-handed, so that you're working different muscles.
~ Push vs lifting the snow if possible.
~ Periodically change your grip on the hand holding the bar (palm under vs. palm over).
~ Wait an hour or two after eating.
~If you have heart or lung problems call a friend or neighbor or post on your community FB pages for someone to help you. There are people who want to help!
