March is Social Work Month.
We recognize and thank everyone working in social services across Acadiana who makes a difference every single day.
And a special thank you to our very own Rebekah, whose dedication and guidance mean so much to the patients and families we are privileged to serve.

Today we share — Hands That Comfort.

Comfort often begins in simple moments —
a hand held,
a presence nearby,
the reassurance that no one has to face difficult days alone.
These are the moments our teams are privileged to witness every day — moments where connection brings calm, understanding, and support when it is needed most.
Because comfort and care begin with human connection.

Some moments in healthcare cannot be measured by charts, diagnoses, or care plans.

They are found in a hand held a little longer.
A quiet conversation.
A family finding peace in the middle of uncertainty.

“The Human Connection at Audubon” is a reflection series inspired by the meaningful moments our teams witness every day at the bedside — moments that remind us care is, first and always, human.

Through this series, we hope to encourage conversations across Acadiana about wishes, dignity, and what matters most — long before difficult decisions must be made.

Because comfort and care begin with human connection.

Mrs. Emma “Joyce” Reed, known and loved by all, lived a life defined by unwavering faith and a joyful light she brought into this world — especially to her grandchildren.
We were honored to care for Mrs. Reed during her final season and to walk alongside her close and loving family.
Serving families during sacred seasons is never something we take lightly, and we remain deeply grateful for the trust placed in our team.

Is there a song that gives you a good, cathartic cry?
Catharsis is such a powerful thing. It’s that emotional release where you let yourself feel everything fully — the grief, the love, the gratitude — and somehow come away with a little more clarity and peace. It’s a reminder that even in loss, there’s beauty in remembering.
Music has a way of carrying us back to the people and moments that shaped us. And sometimes, a good cry isn’t sadness — it’s healing.
This is mine. 🙏💙🥹😢
