Meet Our Acupuncturist: Shemy Ayon, LAc.
Shemy graduated with a Masters in Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado. She is a NCCAOM certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and has been a Colorado board certified Licensed Acupuncturist since 2015.
As an acupuncturist, she has worked successfully with patients experiencing chronic and acute pain, orthopedic and sports injuries, insomnia, stress, depression, women's health issues, trauma, gastrointestinal issues, autoimmune conditions, and allergies.
In order to help her patients achieve their health goals and bring their body, mind, and spirit into balance she draws upon different modalities. These include Chinese massage, aromatherapy, sound healing, guasha, cupping, breathing and qigong exercises, and dietary and lifestyle therapies. Shemy believes in a whole-body approach which not only addresses the symptoms but also finds the root of the condition.
When she isn’t treating patients Shemy enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, traveling, reading, yoga, and spending time with her two children and husband.
Acupuncture may help patients with pain, including back and neck pain, fibromyalgia, knee pain, postoperative pain, osteoarthritis, muscle pain, tennis elbow, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, cancer pain, and more. Acupuncture can also help improve sleep, ease menstrual cramps, lower stress, and improve mood.
Some insurances cover acupuncture, including (but not limited to) UHC, UMR, Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, and more. We also offer an affordable cash rate for those not using insurance for existing patients. You can also use your Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) or your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for acupuncture.
Give us a call at 303-665-8444 to schedule an appointment with Shemy or for any questions.
