We’re bringing this one back 💛

As we’ve listened more to autistic voices over the years, this message has only become clearer: trying to shape an autistic brain into a neurotypical ideal isn’t just unhelpful—it can be deeply painful.

Helping a child understand autism isn’t just about explaining their brain.

It’s about supporting their identity, too.🌈

Awareness is just the beginning.

Real autism acceptance grows through listening, understanding, and making space for autistic kids to be fully themselves.

Happy Autism Empowerment Month 💛🌈

We spend so much time writing recommendations…

But many families leave feeling unsure where to start.

Often, it’s not about motivation—
it’s about whether the recommendation feels clear, relevant, and supported.

Small shifts in how we write recommendations can make a big difference in whether they’re actually used.

If you want to learn more about writing affirming, actionable recommendations, join us for our upcoming workshop or comment “workshop” and we’ll send you the details!

After learning about a sibling’s neurodiversity, kids often have big, honest questions.

Every response is valid—and some questions can catch us off guard.

In Part 2, we’re sharing real questions siblings may ask, along with language that centers reassurance, honesty, and emotional safety.

Giving kids space to ask these questions can be a powerful step toward understanding and connection 🤍

After your child is diagnosed, what do you tell their sibling(s)?

(Comment SIBLINGS for a direct link to the full article.)

When explaining a diagnosis to other kids in the family, I’ve found it helpful to use the same Brain Building framework we use when talking with neurodivergent kids about their differently wired brains.

Start with strengths (the highways).

Name challenges with care (the construction projects).

Use the diagnosis as a tool for understanding—not a label.
