Dear SLBC Parents/Guardians,

Our organization was recently made aware of Louisiana Medicaid’s decision to termination their contract with the managed care organizations (MCO), United Healthcare Community Plan effective January 1, 2026.

Our organization is taking proactive measure to ensure that we are doing our part to ensure all clients who are currently enrolled with United Healthcare Community Plan continue to receive their medically necessary treatment.

At this time, we are being informed that Louisiana Medicaid will automatically assign all current recipients into one of the five remaining Managed Care Organization (MCO) plans.

Southern Louisiana Behavior Consultants, LLC is in-network with 4 of the 5 remaining Managed Care Organization (MCO) plans (Aetna Better Health, Amerihealth Caritas, Healthy Blue, and Louisiana Healthcare Connections). We are not in-network with Humana.

We anticipate this transition to have minimal to no impact on the majority or our client’s treatment.

Our organization will work relentlessly to obtain single-case agreements and/or authorizations from Humana for any individuals transfer to their network in an effort to continue providing your child’s medically necessary treatment without interruption. However, if we are unable to obtain single-case agreements and/or authorizations from Humana until your child can be switched to a Managed Care Organization (MCO) plan that our organization is in-network, services will need to be paused until a single-case agreement and/or authorization can be obtained.

We are whole heartedly committed to continuing to provide high-quality treatment to our clients while we navigate these upcoming changes.

Should you disagree with the recent changes and/or require additional information or details concerning this upcoming Managed Care Organization (MCO) changeover, please feel free to reach out your local state representatives and/or case managers.
