CPAP is a disease management tool, not a cure.
It keeps the airway open at night, but it doesn’t answer the question: Why is the airway obstructing in the first place?
Possible underlying causes that often go uninvestigated include:
• Anatomical issues (e.g., enlarged tonsils, nasal obstruction, jaw or tongue position)
• Weight and fat distribution
• Muscle tone and airway control problems
• Allergies or chronic inflammation
Treating OSA effectively means finding and addressing the root cause, not just forcing the airway open.
⚠️ Many adults never get this evaluation—and risk years of unmanaged health consequences.
