"First time patient. Everyone in her office greeted me with warmth and patience. Great sense of humors. Dr Amanda shook my hand upon entering the room. We talked prior to her exam. I commented, “I bet you would rather have a young patient who will need you for births.” She replied, “I’m okay with any patients who are nice.” I grinned at her. We had a pleasant conversation even after my exam was over. I felt like Dr Amanda saw me as another human and not as a means to make money. Meet Dr. Amanda Lemoine Alleyn, M.D.!

She’s a native of Avoyelles Parish, a mother of two, and one of the amazing doctors here at Southern. She and her family are delighted to have settled in Lafayette where they love experimenting with new recipes, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying local music and events.

Dr. Alleyn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from LSU and her doctorate of medicine and training in Obstetrics and Gynecology from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where she also served as Chief Resident.

She received the Excellence in Laparoscopic Surgery award and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. During her training, she participated in both routine and high risk obstetrical and gynecological care, obtaining thorough knowledge and practice in minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Alleyn currently serves as the Chairperson of the Department of Women’s Services at Lafayette General Medical Center. She is also a board member for Maddie’s Footprints, a local nonprofit organization that provides emotional and financial support for families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

Today and every day, we honor the little ones lost too soon and hold their families close in our hearts. You are never alone.
