Congratulations to Martin Bech, who has been promoted to Acadian Companies Senior Vice President and appointed to its Executive Committee.

He will retain the position of General Counsel and will lead the corporate legal functions of Acadian’s eight divisions, including contracts, insurance, litigation, risk management, and acquisition strategies.

Bech joined Acadian as General Counsel in 2021 and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, SEC regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, insurance coverage and risk management, corporate finance and general business and human resources law.

Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Allyson Pharr said, “Martin is a very skilled attorney and an effective leader. During his time as our General Counsel, he has been an integral part of Acadian’s success and I am confident that he will continue to elevate this role with his expertise. This shift will also allow me to expand my outreach on policy and regulatory matters and further strengthen our internal and external capabilities, opportunities and presence.”

CEO H. Eddy Dupuis added, “Martin's appointment to the executive committee is a testament to the strategic value of his extensive experience. His command of these functions and invaluable legal knowledge will continue to guide our overall strategy and growth."

Our Acadian Companies team extends our condolences to the Zuschlag family following the passing of John Zuschlag. John began his career at Acadian Ambulance in May 1976, joining his brother, Richard Zuschlag. He held various roles throughout his tenure, ultimately being named Chief Administrative Officer.

John retired in July 2020 after 44 years of service, and his impact and legacy continue. John was instrumental in our company's growth, and his contributions were many. He had a unique style and a zest for life.

Visitation will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, LA, on April 7 and 8, with a Mass of Christian Burial on April 8.

Members of Acadian's leadership team recently toured Our Lady of Lourdes Women's & Children's Hospital's brand new expanded neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), led by Lourdes Foundation Executive Director Jeigh Stipe, NICU Director Kathi Comeaux, and VP of Women's and Children's Services and Operations Alesha Alford.

The expansion includes 19 new private family suites - including some equipped for twins - with high-tech capabilities and comfort amenities. Women's & Children's Hospital operates the only Level Three Surgical NICU in Acadiana, providing care for infants from more than 30 parishes across South Louisiana.

Acadian Ambulance and Acadian Air Med have been a partner to Women's & Children's for many years, and have provided countless delicate NICU patient transports using specialized isolettes and stretchers by both ground ambulance and helicopter.
