This is big🎤💥 A Historic Day for Women’s Health 💛

The FDA has officially removed black box warnings from most hormone replacement therapy (HRT) products. These warnings previously suggested increased risks of heart disease and breast cancer — leading millions of women to avoid therapies that could have significantly improved quality of life.

This update reflects decades of research showing that, when used appropriately, HRT can be safe and profoundly beneficial.

Long-Term Health Benefits of HRT May Include:
• Reduced all-cause mortality
• Lower risk of fractures
• ~50% reduction in heart attack risk
• ~64% reduction in cognitive decline
• ~35% lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease

And as always — Timing, Type & Route of Administration matter.
Working with a knowledgeable provider is key.

This is a meaningful shift, especially considering that previous caution was based on the early 2000s Women’s Health Initiative study — a study involving women with an average age of 63, using hormone formulations no longer commonly used today. That context matters.

As FDA Commissioner Makary stated:

“Tens of millions of women have been denied the life-changing and long-term health benefits of HRT because of medical dogma rooted in a distortion of risk.”

We are hopeful this helps more women receive the relief and long-term health support they deserve.
