Through mindfulness, I learned my triggers and now I consciously choose habits that align with the life I'm fighting for.

"I based my decision on surgery solely for health reasons. I'd already completed a left knee replacement and and L4/L5 vertebrae bone fusion. My cholesterol was significantly elevated as well. I have never been a petite person so that was not my goal. I just needed to lighten the load on these joints and improve my overall health. I have had an awesome support system at home and I have drastically changed my relationship with food. I am working on my consistency in the gym but I'm getting there. The key to weight loss surgery is remembering that this is ONLY A TOOL! The work still has to be done. And it hasn't been easy but it has definitely been worth it. I am 53 and post-menopausal making the journey that much more difficult but I am enjoying the slow and steady weight loss."
