The US Department of education is planning to remove several degrees from the list of Professional Degrees that are eligible for the higher federal loan limits and eliminate the Grad Plus Loan Program. This will restrict access to education and worsen workforce shortages in these critical fields.

The following degrees are being removed, which will have a huge impact on our communities:
• Nursing (especially advanced practice degrees like nurse practitioner)
• Physical Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Physician Assistant
• Social Work
• Architecture
• Public Health
• Education (e.g., Special Education, Music Education)
• Accounting
