Heart Warming Butternut Squash Soup--
Stabilize your blood sugar with winter squash; boost your immune system and calm your digestive tract with the chicken bone broth base and warm your core with ginger and cinnamon with this delicious soup.

1 Tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 large green apple, peeled, cored, and diced
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. ground ginger (or 1 tbsp fresh gingerroot, grated)
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp maple syrup, honey, or sugar
2 1/2 lbs butternut squash, peeled & cut into 1" cubes (alternatively, you can bake the squash in the oven and puree it with the other ingredients in the final step)
1 quart chicken bone broth (you can substitute chicken or vegetable stock, however, the bone broth has nutrients and protein beneficial to your skin, hair, joints, and digestive tract that are not found in stock)
salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
garnish with thin slices of green apple (optional)
1. Saute the onion and apples in olive oil. Add a little water and cook until soft (about 10 minutes). Stir in the spices and cook for 1 minute longer.
2. Add the broth and squash. Gently simmer until squash is very tender (about 20 minutes).
3. Puree the vegetables in a blender or food processor, holding on to the lid! If needed, add more broth to make a medium-thick soup.
4. Season with salt and pepper to taste & adjust the spices.
5. Serve hot with thinly sliced apples. Enjoy!

Cupping is making a big splash at the Olympics...
What is it? How does it help? Cupping therapy uses glass or plastic cups to create localized vacuum pressure on the surface of the body. The vacuum inside the cup pulls the skin and fascia to the surface, releasing taut bands and muscle tension and drawing fresh blood and lymph to nearby tissues. In essence, cupping is a form of myofascial release that increases blood flow and lymph circulation and relaxes tight muscles. Cupping can also be used to treat systemic disorders such as cough or acute skin conditions. We offer 20 minute cupping only sessions for myofascial release.
