Such a great day to help Priscilla!
💙This is why we do what we do💙
Access to hearing healthcare changes lives.
Priscilla was recently fit by Dr. Julie Eschenbrenner with donated hearing aids through our non-profit, Hearing the Call-Colorado.
Priscilla has retinitis pigmentosa, a rare, inherited condition that causes progressive vision loss. Over time, it affects the retina’s ability to respond to light, often starting with difficulty seeing at night and loss of peripheral vision, and potentially advancing to significant visual impairment.
When someone is navigating vision loss, hearing becomes even more critical.
Hearing helps with spatial awareness.
Hearing provides environmental cues.
Hearing supports balance, safety, independence, and connection.
Untreated hearing loss can increase isolation, cognitive strain, and fall risk for anyone, but especially for someone whose vision is compromised. When one sensory system is affected, the others carry more load. Supporting hearing isn’t optional. It’s essential.
Because of donated technology and compassionate care, Priscilla now has greater access to the world around her, including conversations, safety cues, and everyday moments that matter🤟🏼
