I have exciting news to share! Many women suffer needlessly with Lichen Sclerosis, a painful condition with few treatment options. Studies, along with testimony from my own patients, prove that CO2RE Intima laser treatment, along with steroid creams, have had amazing success. This in-office laser treatment has no down-time and is covered by most insurance companies. If you or someone you love could benefit from this treatment, please call or email for more information or to schedule an appointment.
Happy Thanksgiving!

As I close out this year, I want each of you to know what an honor it has been to care for you. I feel like you are family and I will continue to care deeply about each of the women who placed their trust in me.
Cathy has been like a sister to me all of these 34 years that she has worked to make sure that every patient received the care that she knew I expected of our office. I have relied on her and she has worked tirelessly. To make sure I didn’t forget her, she honored me with this special gift!

In a woman’s body, production of testosterone peaks in her mid 20’s and begins to steadily decline, down to about 50% by age 40. This is when a woman will often present with complaints such as increased abdominal fat, hair loss, fatigue, brain fog, decrease in libido, anxiety, irritability, depression, headaches, and general lack of well-being. Most women attribute these symptoms to a natural diminishment of vitality with aging. But, recognizing these symptoms are signaling something about our bodies, and giving attention to hormone health can improve our health and quality of life as we age.

Testosterone replacement therapy for symptomatic women has the potential to improve mood, libido, energy level, and feeling of well-being. In addition, documented health benefits include reduced cardiac risk, reduced breast cancer risk, and improved bone density. Testosterone therapy can be beneficial for symptomatic individuals as early as a decade or more before onset of the menopause transition. If this is of interest to you, please contact me so that we can discuss options.

I recently read this in the New York Times and thought, how powerful this statement is.

"It’s me again, the tired occupational epidemiologist. Sixteen months into this pandemic and I seem to have answered all manner of questions about the virus for my clients. The questions often contain scary words like risk, transmission, mitigation or liability. On reflection, the most meaningful question I’ve gotten during this pandemic, likely the only question that matters, came from a university president, a Jesuit priest responsible for many. He asked me, “Shannon, what’s the most loving thing we can do for our community?” The answer to this question has changed throughout the pandemic, but for now, without question, the most loving thing we can do for each other is to get vaccinated." — Shannon Magari, Syracuse, N.Y.

We can’t stress enough how important we feel it is for you to get the COVID vaccine. Whether you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or think you want to in the future, we encourage you to protect yourself from the coronavirus.

Coronavirus transmission is sharply accelerating in Louisiana due to our state’s dismally low vaccination rates. Of all the people dying in hospitals now from COVID, almost all of them are unvaccinated.

Being pregnant is an immuno-compromised state for a woman and data shows that getting COVID while pregnant leads to an increased risk of hospitalization, being intubated, and even death.
