He stays on the cutting edge of the latest advancements in orthodontics by maintaining memberships with numerous prestigious organizations. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, Louisiana Association of Orthodontists, Louisiana Dental Association and the Acadiana District Dental Association. Dr. Waguespack believes in using the best and latest technology in order to achieve optimal functional results. He enjoys giving back to the community by donating to local schools throughout the year, including a donation of one full orthodontic treatment case per year for a local fundraiser. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis as well as participating in his children’s many activities.

Dr. Jay offers various treatment options for his patients. Kids and adults need braces for various reasons other than just to get straight teeth.

Some reasons include, crooked, overlapping, or overcrowded teeth, or a "bad bite" (known as malocclusion). Malocclusion is when there's a difference in the sizes of the top and bottom jaws. When the upper jaw is bigger than the lower jaw, it's called an overbite.
