If you have extra body fat, there’s a decent chance your vitamin D is low too.

Research consistently shows a strong link between obesity and vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so it tends to get stored in fat tissue and blood levels often run lower.

At The Wellness Spot, we make it simple:
• Vitamin D testing (know your number)
• Vitamin D injections (fast, consistent support)
• Third-party tested vitamin D supplements (quality matters)

Mid-December, we learned our plans were changing and we needed to find a new location.

We finished our commitment on January 30, signed the lease, and got the keys on February 15. February has been a sprint. I feel like I’ve lived 1000 lives in the month of February.

Behind the scenes, Candice and I have been building The Wellness Spot from the ground up: putting up walls and doors, painting, cleaning, moving, organizing, making sure everything is up to code, switching to a new EMR, and interviewing medical assistants, all while still seeing patients virtually and keeping things running as best we could without a true office setup.

Tomorrow we start the next chapter at The Wellness Spot.
3135 Concord Rd, Unit 3

Is everything perfect? No.
Do I love the bathroom? Absolutely not.
But we’re proud of this space, and we can’t wait to welcome you in.

Who is Truly Elevate Wellness?

My name is Chelsey, and I’m registered nurse with over 14 years in the traditional healthcare setting. This experience was incredibly valuable, as I’ve watched what happens when patients don’t prioritize their health. After Covid, I knew I wanted to make a difference, but in a different way.

In 2021 I received my CrossFit L1 certification and began my coaching journey, through movement. In 2023 I completed level 1 course, and began nutrition coaching. In 2026, I completed my CrossFit L2 certification and refocused my coaching journey. Now, I’m excited to offer personalized coaching for mindset, habit building, and nutrition.

This isn’t weighing and measuring.
This isn’t me telling you what to eat.

This is an entirely different experience.

This is unlearning years of bad eating habits.
This is redefining what you thought health was.
This is realizing that the impossible, is possible.

I will teach you, educate you, and empower you to take control of your health. Whether that’s through nutrition, movement, or both, we will start the journey where you are and take it one day at a time.

If any of this resonates with you, or anyone you may know, reach out. I’m here to answer any and all questions!

If you're ready to take the leap into your Wellness journey, follow the link below and lets get started! The first five clients to work with me as I embark on this journey get a massive discount with a three month commitment, in exchange for real time, transparent feedback as I learn and grow!

If you feel like your body changed and your old strategies stopped working, you are not imagining it.

Perimenopause and menopause can affect:
• hunger and cravings
• insulin sensitivity
• sleep quality
• energy and recovery
• body fat distribution (especially the midsection)

So no, this is not always a “try harder” problem. That advice should have been retired a long time ago.

CDC data show obesity prevalence is highest in adults ages 40 to 59, and recent U.S. data show obesity prevalence in women ages 40 to 59 at 47.4%. Midlife is where a lot of women feel like their metabolism changed overnight. It did not happen overnight, but it can absolutely feel that way.

GLP-1 medications can be a great tool for the right patient, but the best outcomes happen when we also address the full picture:
• hormones
• protein intake
• muscle mass
• stress
• sleep
• long-term maintenance

At The Wellness Spot, we do not do band-aid care. We build a plan that makes sense for your body and your season of life.

Sharing this because I see it every week in labs.

Weight loss plateau?
You might not be overeating.
You might be under-eating.

Chronic under-fueling does not just slow fat loss. It can wreck your hormones.

When calories stay too low for too long:

Cortisol climbs.
Thyroid conversion slows.
SHBG rises.
Free testosterone drops.
Progesterone output weakens.
Sleep suffers.
Libido disappears.

Now you are tired, inflamed, puffy, and stuck. The scale will not move and your hormones feel chaotic.

Your body is not broken. It is protecting you.

After 40, your system is already navigating perimenopause shifts. Add chronic restriction on top of that and you amplify stress physiology.

Starving yourself is not a fat loss strategy.
It is a hormone disruption strategy.

Fueling properly, prioritizing protein, lifting weights, and managing stress will move the needle faster than eating less ever will.

Especially in this decade. Prepped Nutrition

“Starvation mode” — let’s clear this up 👇⁣

You’ve probably heard:⁣
“If you don’t eat enough, your body will hold onto fat.”⁣

Here’s what that actually means (in real-life terms):⁣

Your body is smart. When you consistently eat very little for a long time, it adapts. It may:⁣

• Burn fewer calories⁣
• Move less without you realizing⁣
• Feel more tired⁣
• Increase hunger hormones⁣

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.⁣
(read that again!) ⁣

It’s your body trying to conserve energy.⁣

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁:⁣

If “starvation mode” meant your body could just hold onto fat no matter what, severe starvation wouldn’t lead to extreme weight loss. 𝗘𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 — 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀.⁣

The real issue most people face isn’t true starvation.⁣

It’s this cycle:⁣
➡️ Restrict hard Monday–Friday⁣
➡️ Feel proud for being “good”⁣
➡️ Weekend hits… and it’s YOLO⁣
➡️ “I’ll start over Monday”⁣

Now your weekly calories aren’t actually low — they’re just inconsistent.⁣

That’s not starvation mode.⁣
That’s restriction → rebound → repeat.⁣

Fat loss works best when:⁣
✨ You eat enough consistently⁣
✨ You include foods you enjoy⁣
✨ You focus on weekly averages⁣
✨ You stop punishing yourself Monday–Friday⁣

You don’t need extremes.⁣

You need consistency.⁣

Save this if you’re done starting over every Monday.

These are my actual results 16 days after my first Sciton BBL treatment. No filters, no makeup just skin doing what it’s supposed to do when you give it the right nudge.

If you’ve never had BBL before, here’s what’s happening: the light targets pigment in your skin freckles, sunspots, uneven tone and gently heats it up. Those spots rise to the surface and darken over the first few days (the “coffee ground” look). Then your body naturally sheds that old pigment as your skin renews.

I had zero downtime. I literally went to an outdoor concert that same night (sunscreen and hat on, of course). My skin was just a little flushed for a few hours, and that was it.

Most people do a series of three treatments spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart for full pigment correction, then maintenance once or twice a year to keep results going.

By the two-week mark (this photo was technically day 16), you start to see this kind of change — clearer, more even tone — but the real magic is what’s still happening underneath: collagen production, smoother texture, and that natural glow that creeps up on you over time.

We just added the Sciton Tribrid system at Adorn (BBL HEROic, Moxi, and HALO all in one platform), and it’s easily one of the most powerful tools for pigment, texture, and rejuvenation I’ve ever used.

I’ll keep posting updates as my skin continues to evolve.
