Check out our recent Faith and Schools Luncheon, hosted by the Bayou Church. Over a dozen churches came together to learn about the school CAFEs and how their churches could get involved.

Church Speakers were Father Guillory from St. Patrick’s Church, Alex Hernandez, NextGen Director at the Bayou Church, and Sister Peters from Lift City Church. The event was sponsored by Love Our Schools and the Acadiana PACEs Alliance.

This morning, the leadership team of the Acadiana PACES Alliance came together for a focused and productive Board Retreat.

We strengthened our organizational structure, walked through a comprehensive SWOT analysis, began planning our Spring Conference, and set clear goals for the next few years of the organization. The work was intentional, honest, and rooted in accountability.

We were also honored to have a visit from Mrs. Ashley Orphe the CEO of Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWALHEC). We are grateful for their partnership and continued support, which has helped strengthen our capacity and vision as an organization. Strong partnerships matter, and we appreciate those who believe in the work and walk alongside us.

We remain committed to building an organization that is prepared, strategic, and people-centered. The foundation is being laid. The vision is clear. And the work continues.

Over the previous academic year, PACEs Alliance members Val MacGyvers and Whitney Storey led a Faculty Learning Community on trauma-informed instruction. As we know, people with adverse childhood experiences carry that trauma everywhere, including college campuses, and we are committed to doing what we can to reverse the consequences of ACEs. Here, MacGyvers and Storey are talking to attendees of the Faculty Learning Community showcase. Please read their materials and check out the resources at this page too! https://louisiana.edu/distancelearning/news/flc-cohorts-deliver-insights-results-24-25
