It's Week of the Young Child and, for Tasty Tuesday, the children had the opportunity to make their own pizzas and fruit kabobs!

When a child makes their own pizza, they practice fine motor skills by pressing and shaping biscuit dough with their hands, then adding pizza sauce and cheese to complete their creations.

Making fruit kabobs helps build coordination and independence. The children carefully selected and placed pieces of fruit onto skewers, demonstrating patience and attention to detail.

We had some great volunteers from Faith Christian High School spend the day at our Creasy center helping us dig our mulch and dirt to make room for a fresh layer to keep our kids safe! One of the Creasy parents, Eric, was so kind to donate the use of his trailer so we could haul off the old fill!

Volunteers like these generous individuals help us meet our mission to provide and advocate for quality child care and early education!

Our CEO, Tammey, is in Washington D.C. attending NAEYC’s 2026 Public Policy Forum advocating for high-quality early learning at the national level.

NAEYC’s Public Policy Forum brings together early childhood educators, advocates, affiliates, and emerging leaders from across the country to elevate their voices, deepen their policy knowledge, and engage directly with our nation's policymakers.

Last week, a group of our staff and board members stopped by the Indiana Statehouse to participate in the 2026 Indiana Early Childhood Education Day to help inform lawmakers of the importance of early learning and quality child care. We had the opportunity to speak with Representatives Klinker and Campbell about the key issues we are facing in providing early care and education.

Thank you to Indiana AEYC and the generous sponsors for making an impact with this day of advocacy!
