💬Milestone Monday💬
Joint attention is one of the earliest building blocks for communication. It happens when a child shares focus on something with another person—like pointing to a toy, looking at it, and then looking back at you.
This important skill helps support social connection, learning, and language development. Joint attention typically begins around 9 months and is usually established by 18 months.
If your child isn’t pointing, showing objects, or looking back and forth between you and things they’re interested in, it may be helpful to talk with a professional.
*Wee Speak Therapy & Learning Center offers complimentary speech and language screenings.
