🫶🏻October is a month for Awareness, Love & Remembrance—
🩺Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month
🤍Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month
October holds a very special place in my heart. It’s Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the incredible privilege of what I get to do every day — meeting families, watching little miracles wiggle across my screen, and being trusted with the most precious moments of your lives. It’s also Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, which reminds me of the other side of this work — the heartbreaks that forever stay in my heart.
So many people tell me, “You have the best job in the world,” and they’re right — I do. Every time I get to show a mom her tiny baby, hear that first heartbeat, or celebrate another milestone with a returning family, I am filled with joy. I’ve watched some of you grow your families over the years — first pregnancies that turned into second, third, and fourth little blessings. I’ve met your babies before you did, and I’ve been lucky enough to see them grow. That connection means more to me than I can ever put into words.
But with all that joy also comes the weight of the hardest moments. There are days when my heart feels heavy — when I can see that something isn’t right, when the heartbeat is silent, or when I know you’re about to face a storm that no parent should have to face. In those moments I’m your tech— but I’m also a mother who has faced a storm myself. Those moments never leave me. Even after the room is quiet and the lights are turned off, I carry those families with me. I remember your faces, your tears, and your strength.
I find myself hoping you know how deeply I care for every single one of you — not just for the few minutes we share in the ultrasound room, but long after. Your stories stay with me. Your babies — the ones here in your arms and the ones forever in your hearts — will always be remembered.
This month and every month, I celebrate with those who are experiencing joy and I hold space for those walking through grief. Whether your baby is here with you, watching over you from heaven, or not yet conceived but so deeply longed for — you are seen, loved, and never forgotten.
Thank you for trusting me to share in your joy, your heartbreak, and your hope.
You’ve given me the honor of witnessing the very first chapters of your family’s story — and that is a gift I will never take for granted. 💕🌈 🩺🩷
