Do you have trouble hearing in a noisy room? Are you always asking others to repeat what they said? Do you think others mumble? Who should be screened for hearing loss? Hearing loss can be screened for people of any age. It is routine for newborns to be screened before leaving the hospital. School-age children should be screened at school or in their doctors' offices. Adults should be screened at least every 10 years through age 50. After reaching the age of 50, adults should be screened every 3 years. Close to 8 million people between the ages of 18 and 44 have hearing loss and do not even realize it!!
