Yesterday reminded us to celebrate love…but God’s love was never meant to last just one day.

“Love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Today is a gentle reminder that kindness, patience, forgiveness, and compassion are some of the greatest gifts we can give, and they cost nothing. A smile, a call, a prayer, a helping hand… these are the moments that truly leave a legacy in the hearts of others.

At Vines Funeral Home, we believe love is shown not only in grand gestures, but in everyday care for one another.

✨ Let’s Celebrate Black History Month ✨

Today, we honor the strength, resilience, faith, and legacy of those who paved the way before us. Black history is not just a reflection of the past. It is a living testament to perseverance, purpose, and progress that continues to shape our communities today.

This month, we celebrate the stories, contributions, and voices that remind us of where we’ve been and inspire us toward where we are going. May we continue to honor the legacy by uplifting one another, walking in unity, and building a future rooted in hope and dignity.

✨Legacy Reflection | Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ✨

As we reflect on the past week in which we celebrate Dr. King’s legacy, Vines Funeral Home is grateful for moments that remind us his legacy is not only remembered—it is lived.

Merilyn Vines, President of Vines Funeral Home, attended the City of LaFayette’s 2nd Annual MLK Celebration hosted by LaFayette Main Street, where the community came together in unity, service, and hope—reflecting the values Dr. King championed.

As we honor the life and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we are reminded that his words continue to inspire us in our communities, workplaces, and daily lives, calling each of us to lead with justice, compassion, and purpose.

We are thankful for the City of LaFayette, its leaders, and all who helped keep Dr. King’s legacy alive through action.

At Vines Funeral Home, we remain honored to walk alongside our community—serving with care, unity, and hope.

Today, we honor the life, legacy, and enduring vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr..

Dr. King’s words continue to challenge and inspire us, to build more inclusive, equitable spaces not only in our communities, but in our workplaces and daily interactions as well. His reminder that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” calls each of us to lead with compassion, courage, and accountability.

Life is a journey filled with seasons, each one shaping who we are becoming. Even in moments of uncertainty, we are reminded that there is purpose, direction, and joy available to us each day. When we pause, reflect, and lean into faith, we discover peace that steadies our hearts and hope that lights the way forward.
