Lately, many of my clients are women 65+ and we are really having some fun. Women who have lived a whole life of “shoulds” and not speaking up. They are ready for freedom and it is fun! I love this because it’s fits well with my own value of “it’s not too late.” Intrinsic freedom matters a lot to me and it is a blast to see these women release themselves.

Guess what? If you are struggling for any reason about “The Holidays,” and your mind is doing that lil thing where it either is thinking about everyone else and their perfect holiday OR remembering how great yours USED to be…. Just know that struggle during holidays is way more common than you think. We are all doing our best in a very fractured world to come together with people you likely don’t have day to day contact with. Or, maybe you are without someone you want there. Just try to be present, acknowledge your sadness or anxiety and do the best you can. Recently I have “seen” that we really are on a collective journey, and sadly and wonderfully, it not all about me.. or you. Breathe.

Try this exercise if you find you are in judgement or envy. It can soften your spirit considerably…though it can be a painful exercise. When someone keeps coming up in our lives and there is judgment or envy, instead of relishing in it OR beating yourself up for it… ALLOW your feelings of admiration. It doesn’t mean you admire everything about the person, there just may be a quality that you do admire… that you actually do have and need to tap into. I’ve done this time and time again in my life and the relief I feel afterwards is very rewarding.
