We like to take our time with folks. Naturally, patients have lots of questions & we believe in sitting down & answering every single one of ‘em. No rushing over here.

But after spending the weekend learning at the Hinman as a team, we picked up some ways to keep the office running smooth and still give our patients the time they deserve.

Our mission has always been bigger than dentistry. We believe in serving our community with integrity, compassion, & excellence, just as we are called to do.

Because of your continued support, we’ve been able to invest back into our team: from the doctors to our dental hygienists, dental assistants, & front office staff. We’re all here learning, training, & sharpening our skills so we can better care for the people who trust us with their smiles.

Don’t let the name fool you. Yes, we’re Countryside, but we believe in combining small-town care with modern technology, advanced treatment & a team that is always striving to grow.

On the agenda: a surgical extraction with a bone graft. 🦷✨

Iyanna was talking in REAL time right after her surgical extraction and bone graft. That just shows how smooth & comfortable the process can be when you’re in the right hands.

A surgical extraction is a little different from a simple extraction. In simple terms, it means the dentist has to gently open the gum & sometimes remove a little bone to access a tooth that’s broken, impacted, or stuck below the gum line.

When a tooth is removed, the bone in that area can shrink or drop over time. That’s why we place a bone graft and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) to help maintain the bone level& support healing; which keeps the area strong & ready for a beautiful implant in the future.

But for real… the front desk runs the whole operation. They’re answering 10 phones at once, verifying insurance, scheduling patients, presenting treatment, explaining balances, & somehow still smiling when you walk in the door.

Dentistry is definitely a team sport … if the front desk stops, the whole office stops.

So next time you come in, make sure you tell Faith & Stephanie hello! 🥰 They’re working hard behind the scenes to keep everyone scheduled, informed, and taken care of.

Nothing will humble a dentist quicker than starting a surgical extraction with 5 minutes left in the day… & that tooth decides to break like a dry chicken bone. 🤠🦷

That’s when the cowgirl boots come on, the surgical handpiece comes out, & we remember why patience matters in dentistry. Sometimes teeth don’t come out in one pretty piece … & that’s why surgical extractions, sectioning the tooth, & careful removal protect the bone & keep patients safe.

Moral of the story: Teeth don’t care what time we close. 😂

Dental assistant Katie won! 🎉

PPE is important in dentistry. We utilize PPE to protect ourselves from aerosols & reduce the risk of cross-contamination between patients & our team. Proper PPE, such as masks, gloves, face shields, & gowns, creates a barrier that helps keep both patients & dental professionals safe during procedures.

During all procedures, we have our patients wear a patient bib & patient glasses for eye protection. We also offer a cozy blanket for comfort (don’t worry, we wash them between every patient).
